Lonergan remains in the team despite the return of Scarlett and Taylor, he may also spend time forward. In fact on the whole, the Cats have named quite a tall team, given they also brought Blake back.

Why does everyone seem to have inside knowledge on Geelong's team?Comment
-
No inside knowledge, just a hunch. Also as I have said in a previous thread, I have had a look at the Geelong thread at Bigfooty, and quite a few of their supporters seem to think that a certain number of players will not be playing on Saturday night.Comment

I thought we wanted to win this game for Goodesy.
How come Ablett and Barlow are named????
Good to see Melcho on the emergency list.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Maybe Ablett will be trade bait at the end of the year (if he's worth anything) so perhaps he's being kept in the team to remain visible and hence of some value come trade week???Comment

Pretty easy really, monitor the opposition fan forum, look at the emergencies and you can work out pretty quickly who is likely to be a last minute withdrawal.
Stevie J has hardly trained all week and Ryan Gamble would be his replacement in the forward line.

If your relying on fan forums your in trouble. How many times are we so far off the mark on this forum in guessing roos' selections for the week. Fan forums pretty much equal speculation and opinion.Comment

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Goodes needs to start on the wing and push forward. Goodes is versatile, he needs to use that to @@@@ with Geelongs matchups. If we were to start with White at FF and Barlow at CHF, and have Barlow push up and Goodes push forward (assuming it's Ling to Goodes and Taylor/Lonergan to Barlow), then I think we can create some mismatches. Whether you're a fan of Barlow or not, he's a highly versatile player, and if we use that in conjunction with Goodes, we might be able to get Goodes up forward on Ling a few times, or pushing onto the wing with a key defender keeping him company at others.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment
