Holy Moley that's is a broad spectrum of nearly almost no perhaps yes isn't it!
I think it boils down to this week that we just haven't got a clue. Well we do, Collingwood by 3 points, but it looks like we may believe the kids can do it. Murder em I say. Safely from my loft in Sydney while the troops go into battle and the hangers on light up the stadium with their colours and flags in red and white, all the while practicing their humble winning comments to devistated Collywobble supporters.....oh I wish.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Originally posted by Cheer SquadI wouldn't be surprised if this year's Grand Final features Collingwood. They are playing a compelling brand of football, and it's obvious that self-belief and desire runs through the side.
Ah, September. The weather is pleasant, the smell of turf pervades the air, and Collingwood are losing a Grand Final. Apart from Collingwood losing to the Swans in a GF, what can be better?
I'll be realistic. I think they will win at home. The Filth by 38 points."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

I think one of them will kick four goals. Me pessimistic? Nah. Just remembering bad memories from the last few years. Our time to beat the Filth will come, but it is unlikely to be in round 21, 2009."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Unfortunately, it's against the rules to smuggle house bricks onto the ground and shut down opposition players with them. It's the only way we can shut these players down.

The Pies will win. I am so far over hoping that THIS time Sydney will win. (The same applies to Adelaide games). Being optimistic in this situation is akin to be on the road to madness.
The last time the Swans had a satisfying win over Collingwood was Round 6 2003 at Docklands. It was a turning point game if ever there was one in the rise of the Paul Roos coached Swans, leading 28 months later to a Premiership.
Since that game Sydney has been in all 6 finals, won a flag and been in 2 GFs. Collingwood has played in just 4 finals during the same period, there has been no flags and just one GF appearance. Sydney has had a 58.75% win record, (93 wins, 2 draws from 160 games), to Collingwood having a much less impressive, 53.55% win record, (83 wins from 155 games).
YET, Collingwood has won all but 2 games out of 10 since Round 6 2003 against the Swans. The Swans supposely had the home advantage in 7 of those 10 games. The only two losses by Collingwood were in Sydney, where the margins of were just one goal, (in 2004, when Sydney were semifinalists and Collingwood finished 13th), and one point, (in 2005, when Sydney were the eventual Premiers and Collingwood finished second last).

It's because Collingwood run it wide, says Glenn Archer.
Most sides like to make it hard to bring the ball through the middle of the ground but for the Swans, their game is based on it.
...
But Collingwood don't care if they're forced wide ? they have that many blokes who can score from anywhere inside forward 50 that you could park a couple of buses in the attacking arc and they'd still kick a winning score.

I'm wondering which is more likely:Australia winning the Ashes or the Swans beating Collingwood? The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

Very similar odds for both. The Australian Cricket team are a remarkable $5(!!!!), and Sydney are about $4.50 I think. The former odds are extraordinary when you consider that no cricket team in the history of First Class cricket, (little less Test cricket), has ever scored 546 winning runs on a fourth innings. The Test record fourth inning total for The Oval is less than 300 runs, and that's after nearly 130 years of Test Cricket. England at $1.30 to win are fantastic odds and I would seriously consider a punt: money for jam.
For those statistically minded, my high school mathematics suggests that the odds of BOTH the Australian Test team and the Swans winning according to the TAB is about $27.50. However, realistically, I would be put it at more like $150.Comment
