I don't understand why Goodes kicked the ball into a pack of Cats clogging our forward 50 three times (!) on Saturday. This is not a criticism because he generally played well and he's a smart player but I really don't understand what he was doing? If there was a Swan in the area and leading it'd make some sense but unless he aimed it wrongly, you could see where it was going to go from the time it left his boot.
Can anyone explain it to me - and they were after marking so he wasn't under pressure. The first time I was confused, the next bemused and finally defused.
