Haul back DL. We can bag them re their ability or lack thereof, but making personal attacks on their appearance is not acceptable. No-one asks to be less than handsome, its not a personal choice! Enough.

If I was Roos and Longmire, I'd be very tempted to take a punt on him, as while there is baggage involved of course, he is at the end of the day a quality footballer, and probably young enough that he could be part of a push towards a real challenge for the flag somewhere around 2012-13. Getting him for a reasonable deal is of course the big question, but to me I think (Only just) that quality player > dickhead in this case. We have a history of doing well with big profile key forwards, and none of them have ever come without some amount of baggage attached!
      Sensible post, thought-provoking.

Fevola - Carlton wont let him go without some major trade bait coming there way. In that regard, they would probably want Jolly, Okeefe or someone of similar ilk. I just dont think hes worth it personally as he is a likely two or three year option and maybe a five year option at best. We are not going to seriously challenge for a flag (as opposed to finals ) for maybe a couple of years at best and I doubt that fevola will accelerate that. Our problem in the past year or so has been our delivery to our forward line, not the forward line itself and until the new midfield talent comes through then a gun forward may eb a little useless. better that our gun forwards develop at the same time (ie white ) with help from goodes while our next gen midfield develop (ie jack, vez, hanners , meredith etc) with help from kirk and bolton. Hopefully they all start to gel in about 24- 36 months time and we can seriously challenge.

Seaby - Kirk will have a new rival as a spiritual leader by the look of it but I can understand why the swans would be looking at him as they sadly lacked a second ruckman this year and it still isnt known if currie may yet be another Doyle.

I was looking at the cover pic of the Mr & Mrs Roos book and thinking they looked like tele-evangelists. Anyway, now that Crouch has left we're down a Christian so Seabe might be the one to restore religious balance.

As for Fev, the chief holy-roller himself says we need an outside midfielder and he's not in the market for a bigname player. We're halfway through a trade with the Doggies for Hall and adding Fev to the mix would make that even more complicated.

That's not even taking into account that he's nearly 30 and a class A dickhead with a drinking problem.

I like our forward line revolving around Goodes and White, with Johnston, Moore and maybe Monty. We just need some run out of the back to get it to them.

                  I'd happily take Fevola.
I don't want to lose our first round pick - been so long since we've had one so high.
I would PREFER not to lose ROK, but if the club sees benefits in that (ie ROK still wants to go to Vic or something) then so be it.....

Lions doing a cheeky on Lovett according to Australian.

Lovett, who has requested to be traded out of the Bombers, has accepted an invitation from the Lions and is spending time at the Gabba this week.
                    Apologies if already posted.

There is no way that Carlton will trade Fev for anything that the Swans will offer him. Veteran's list in a couple of year, premiership window coming up and the fact that all he did of any real note was get pissed in public. I think we can rest safe.

What's interesting is seeing what other supporters think of our list in terms of arrranging a hypothetical trade. Excluding Goodes - White, ROK and Vespa seem to be all we really have that arouses any interest.

Be good to see Fev in the red and white. A likable and colouful character and a terrific footballer. Give him the green light Reverend.

You can add McVeigh, his name is usually brought up.

According to the HUN, Aaron Davey is not negotiating at the moment...fielding offers, apparently. Much rather have him than Lovett. Seemed unsettled this year. Exactly what we need.
