Hopefully It would be nice if one D O'Keefe was part of that group as well!!

The whisper that Hawthorn are cooling on Burgoyne and becoming more interested in Jolly is gaining momentum.

Mumford is a second year rookie with Geelong so only playing for peanuts, unless he's recently been upgraded to the senior list.

My understanding is that if he doesn't agree to an upgrade (needs to sign a contract) onto the senior list at Geelong, he is therefore a free agent in the Pre Season and if we want to sweat it out until then we can.

Maybe someone has more info on this.

Mumford can still be traded by Geelong (as he is still on contract until October 31), and according to the press Geelong can't match offers of $900,000 over 3 years without murdering their salary cap. Geelong could trade him if the right offer came, he could fall into the PSD and be at the mercy of clubs who want him or he could sign a peanuts deal for the Cats.

Something is telling me that we don't want to lose Barlow

I'm pretty open to trading - I see the Swans as an employer which should earn as much loyalty from it's employees as any otehr organisation.

So over the years I've been happy with pretty much all of our trades.
Even Hall. Never wanted to see him go, but I'm at peace with it.

Only other time I really didn't want to lose a player was Licuria.
Getting the same feeling for Barlow - I think he'll be one that got away if we let him go.....

CTS, you know I love ya, but I doubt we're going to miss Barlow.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

                    Funnily enough, i totally agree.
Barlow drives me mental and i spend alot of my time when he's on the field pulling my hair out in frustration, but I've always had this feeling that one day he would break out and that he was capable of doing anything.

Doubt it. Haven't they got enough useless small fwds that crack under finals pressure already???

Lets see what happens. If we give up Barlow I wont be dissapointed. Has potential but he wont display it here at Sydney. We will draft someone to replace him, or im sure there is someone in our list that can do it.

Most likely hear of a deal around 1-1:30

I'd forgotten about Licuria, but otherwise I agree with every word. And I'd hate to see Barlow come consistently good elsewhere; he could come very good indeed.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I'd agree, except for this feeling I have.
I suppose at least I have it here and now on record, so when he wins a Brownlow and I say that we shouldn't have traded him, no one can accuse me of playing hindsight

We do need another ruckman to support Seaby as it looks like they want to use Currie up forward. Mumford could be very good in a season or two and I will be happy if we can get him.

I have my doubts with Mike Pike and Orreal is not ready yet.

                                How old is cheese Barlow?
