Let's be honest about this, "not the team you thought we were" is a pretty silly statement. The fact is we need to win games and we're not far off giving the Finals a bit of a knock, especially if we have the current best FF playing alongside the next best FF in the making. Yes he is selfish, some things just can't be changed
The players in Victoria get treated like they're Gods and we seem to sort them out a little up here due to the simple fact that it doesn't matter who you are in the AFL, you're just someone on a busy street here. Fev has a better chance of becoming a mature man out of the media glare and particularly because of the massive wake up call given to him by Carlton, kicking him out demonstrates to him that he is just a footy player that can be dumped regardless of how many goals he can kick!
If we get him, I'm not sure how he'll turn out, but he'll certainly benefit us and maybe our big city can benefit him?
Who knows he might even set up a bloody good Italian restaurant outside of Leichardt!

Surely it's tied in with a deal somewhere along the line.

Isn't there a rule that you just cannot swap picks?

True but lump the Hall deal with the Buchanan deal and it can be classed as a four team trade

If this is so, that is pretty generous of Brisbane - it slightly balances the trade out but they probably didn't have to do it.

It's just weird that the 'Trade Tracker' on the AFL website ( ) has it as a standalone trade. Weird.

Mind you, they had us getting pick 39 yesterday, then Brisbane, back to West Coast and back to Brisbane again.

If pick 39 is on a frequent flyer scheme, they could almost fly business class to London.

                      Out: Buchanan, Hall, pick 22

plus whatever late round shenanigans the Bulldogs got us to agree to (probably our 54 for their 63)
                      Better than

                      Swans
In: Seaby, pick 28, pick 47
                      Out: Buchanan, Hall, pick 22

I'd take Fevola so he peed on shop window acted like a goon at the Brownlow and is definately no Elvis.Pick him up and give him another chance get the older players to pull him into line.
He is a big drawcard as well which means an increase in attendances.
He is the best forward in the comp and still has over four years footy left.

Back to dickheads...if real dickheads were banned from AFL then many clubs would have to shut down. Why should dickheads be the only ones victimised? Why not have no skin heads or tatooed arms or divorcees or promiscuity? Lets find all the other irrelevent criteria to ban good footballers. Fev is a good footballer ,thats all that matters.Being a dickhead has always been part of the territory of an AFL club and an important part of the clubs role has been to allow these guys a chance to grow out of it. Dickheads are just immature young men who in the institutionalised safety first climate of Australia have to act like clowns to feel free. They are jackasses in the USA ,same profile same reasons ,rebels without a clue.I think their entertainment value has been underestimated.Every club needs them to stop being a bunch of boring Adelaide Crows wearing jackets and ties to the Footy. What ever happened to Jacko?

                            .
He IS one of the older players, or would be on the Swans list (third after Kirk and Goodes). Our problem isn't up forward - it's in the midfield and that's where we should be spending our picks.
The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible news

Two players who had their careers ended prematurely because of their dickhead status, and one who offered little to the club. Not thrilling precedent.

If Jolly goes then White can be used in the ruck as well as up forward.
Players of the ability of Fevola don't come along very often.
                                You gotta grab em!
Maybe use a 14 or 28 and a player from the Jolly trade if it happens.
