Look for Essendon to offload the pick they got for Lovett and someone like Nash for Burgoyne.

This means the Hawks are offically in the market for a ruckman and pick 9 is in play with Kennedy thrown in.

We can then turn our attention to Mumford for some sort of picks deal involving a combo of our 28, 38 and 39 and Geelong's picks, while resting in the knowledge we have pick 6 & 9 in the bag.

It's playing out very nicely indeed. I'm confident we will get a deal done for Jolly with either Collingwood or Hawthorn, don't really care which one tbh. Hopefully we don't have to give up too much for Mumford.

Could really be a defining draft for us.

General consesus in Melbourne is that Mumford is a very promising bigman and from the games I saw this year his agility and clean hands below his knees are very good.

While it maybe slightly over the odds, pick 28 could be the deal. While it would hurt to do the trade now I would be confident that Mumford could be at least as good as Jolly in 3 years time under the right conditions as he reminds me of him so much when he came to Sydney.

To end up with pick 6 and 9 and to replace Jolly with Seaby, Mumford midfield dpeth in Kennedy would be a dream come true for our recruiting department.

First of all how can Brisbane afford all these players? Two Coleman medallists in one team they will be a super team.

Secondly how can a ruckman, namely Mumford who has only played 20 odd games be worth close to a million bucks?

I wrote to Carlton last week and they responded late yesterday saying Fevola will be traded and the full extent of his behaviour on Brownlow Medal will be made clear to the public after trade period ends."

I bet the Swans are checking all this too. Last year we didn't think we could turn Ben C around and Fev may be a harder cause (there are more bottle shops). Baz really let us down on the field but (as anyone who was at the CC Dinner will attest) he left the club with a lot of respect and dignity exhibited by both sides.

Fev doesn't seem to have the same dignity. And wouldn't the NRL Sydney press love it if he screwed up.

There's a balance between skill and risk. It seems to me that Fev falls on the skill side but I worry about how many clubs (including Carlton) are now showing that they regard him as firmly in the "too much risk" category.

Anyone here at the Brownlow night? Did Fev hump your leg?

Just the same as Jolly was not worth anything near pick 15 when we gave that up for him and what ever we offered him contract wise to move.

Ruckman command a premium when trading for them and Geelong don't really want to get rid of him as they rate him highly.

Therefore it's going to take $300,000 odd a year to convince him to come to Sydney and a second round pick to statisfy Geelong actually trading him.

If he was 20 games in and showed the same amount of talent but was 6 ft then it would be nothing more than a fourth rounder.

It's not uncommon to have false rumours bounced around about a trade obviously, but for a trade, a contract length, contract dollars, the wife being consulted and having a set number of years with at least print and radio repoting on it too.

He has much more chance of game time at Sydney, which should be a factor in favour of a move for him.

Furthermore, if he were 6' and had the same level of talent, he would not be in the AFL.

                      Ouch...

Must be a bit more to the Jolly request to be traded. That seems a bit light on to me.

Maybe they have Mumford already wrapped up pending finalisation of the Jolly deal.

Well Collingwood and the rest of the footy world must think we are the laughing stock of trade week. I mean 14 and 46??

Didn't trading for the day end like 4 hours ago? Why is this the first we've heard of it?

Anyway, it isn't great, it does feel as though we've been fisted. But two top 15 picks is pretty good however you look at it.

                                So, that leaves us with picks 6, 14, 28, 38, 39, 46, 54.
