Really? So I just show my ticket to the driver and I dont pay? I have found that I am staying not far from central station on george street so if it is walkable and the weather is ok we may just do that. I was considering going back to the swans club (is that what it's called?) after the game, do buses go directly there do they from the SCG? Where do you catch them from? Cost?Buses are free from Kings Cross fountain direct to SCG and back if you feel like a drink at the Club (cheap) before the game. I have found the buses from Central quite good, always looks worse, but you do have to pay. And I am told that some casual tickets purchased for the game do include transport and I see some people getting on the buses at Central with them without paying so just try it

Central is a short walk and by far the easiest option. If you're so inclined you can even do a pub crawl on the way - KB, Excelsior, Forresters, Hopetoun, Cricketers Arms, Captain Cook."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Where's the poll???????
I reckon we could win this one. We've got nothing to lose.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

I thought I have seen buses from the ground to to circular quay as well ? If so then that may also be closer then getting to central depending on where you are staying.
And in any respect it doesnt take long to walk (and its not very strenuous ) from the centre of the city if you go straight up oxford and into flinders street .Comment

Well if you already have your game ticket (I am not sure which type you purchased) and you are near the station anyway, smile sweetly while you flash, your ticket and walk on. If its not the right ticket and they let you know, you could sweet talk them into buying a one way ticket (they are return tickets that they sell but I have done this as I have previously planned the Club after the game and didnt want to waste money on the return trip) to the SCG as the bus from the SCG to the Swans Club at the Cross is free. The fare isnt much anyway really but I buy 3 at a time including child and have never worked out the cost for a single fare, may $5 or $6.Really? The bus to the SCG from the Cross is direct (both ways) at the stop right next to the fountain, you can see the fountain from the club door. To get back to the cross from the SCG, its the end bus station outside the main gates, clearly marked so dont worry. Enjoy your trip .Comment

If yr near the Quay, catch a train to central, don't pay, no ticket collectors usually, and walk from there. 15 mins bingo

WALK! Give yourself half an hour or more to enjoy some of Sydneys most interesting areas on a Saturday evening. Wander the backstreets of Surry Hills. Visit a few good bars or caf?s. Take in the sights and sounds of the city firing up. Then watch a great game of footy, farewell some legends of the game, and return home doing the same thing. You don't need buses or trains.Comment
