The Curtain Raiser is the final of the Swans Cup, now in it's third year. The competition pits schools across NSW and the ACT against each other in regional events, the winners qualifying for a knock-out tournament. The final is between Wadalba Community School (Wyong) and Kildare Catholic College (South Wagga). Kildare won the inaugural event in 2007.
