Swan who came home to roots - Kennelly

Opinions may be divided on Kennelly and the way in which he left, but personally I found this article to be a great read (even if the journo did get his dad's name wrong - several times).

How embarrassing for the journalist with Tim Kennelly being such a colossus of the game....Good old Jim.

I initially read the title and thought "he's coming back to Sydney for his girlfriend?".
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Awesome article. Was really impressed with the coverage in today's SMH.

Interesting as the same article printed in the SMH has got all Tim and no Jim.

              Irish Website Yesterday

Tadhg Kennelly has refused to rule out the possibility of him returning to Aussie Rules next year.

The Listowel man, who has forced his way back into the Kerry starting line-up for today's All-Ireland semi-final against Meath, walked out on the Sydney Swans last January to pursue his dream of winning an All-Ireland medal with the Kingdom. But when questioned by Australian reporters last week, he admitted a shock return to the AFL wasn't out of the question.

"I would never say never," he said.

"I emailed someone at the Swans the other day, saying I spent nine years in Sydney, and the whole time I was being asked whether or not I was going back to Ireland. So I finally go back, I'm back less than a year, and the same people start asking when I'm leaving again for Sydney. All I know is I haven't thought about it. At the moment, all I'm about is Kerry football."

Sydney coach Paul Roos has admitted in recent weeks that he would welcome Kennelly's return, while the 28-year-old still owns property in Bondi Beach and his Australian girlfriend Nicole Noonan is based in Sydney.

Does anyone know if we can get to watch this anywhere?

Club Swans had the game live last night, but it was a tad late in the evening for most people :s

I think it was on Setanta Sports, as will the final be on 20th of September.

I watched last night's game on the internet - slightly more palatable than going to Kings Cross at midnight on a Sunday.
