    Roos / Walls Relationship

    Hello,

Just wondering if anyone could fill the gaps in my memory.

I know Walls bagged us during his commentating, I believe the St Kilda game in 2005, in which we played horribly, and got thumped accordingly. Then he wrote and article bagging Roosy's game plan.

But...then what happened? Did Roosy go 'On the Couch'? Or refuse to go "on the couch" or did he reply in the media some way?

It's all a bit fuzzy for me. Any help would be great. Thanks

I think he just stopped talking to him, and the impasse continued until Walls' wife died, when Roosy made contact with him to express his condolences. Walls apologised for his remarks and they've been OK ever since. Previously they had been close since Walls coached Roosy at Fitzroy.

Pretty much it. Walls said that Roos was a selfish coach and Roos (and everyone else) took great exception to the insinuation and he just wiped him. Walls tried to "explain" what he really meant, but it was there for everyone to see and he couldn't escape that. However Roos being who he is reestablished links after the passing of Mrs Walls.
