Is Jesse White the new Richo? Maybe, but he's the Rising Star for R22!

Just commenting on his playing on after a mark. Richo & Gehrig ended up good at it but it can be funny.

Reminded me of when Richo played on outside the boundary line

In two years he could be scary though. Combination of speed and strength

I thought when he easily palmed players off last night was very exciting.

Now what was the name of that bloke that left us this year? Biffo something?

That's a sign of growing skill and confidence. He's gonna be a good one for us.

One thinks that one Mocca has been reading these threads and may have gained a high opinion of his ability. Then again he does have to keep practicing, and he did pull off a cracker of a goal from the boundary line on the run at full pace. He gets told to play on because he takes a mark and dances around, moving off the mark. Aaagghh. Then again he is a strong man. Really strong. And he looked like he was enjoying himself. My benchmark. If they look like they are enjoying themselves, they play naturally and not anxiously.

Love watching the really big blokes accelerate like that. He and Goodes can get to top pace in so few steps, and when they're motoring, their size and bulk makes them very hard to stop.

I had a flashback to Mitch Morton when he did that!

He could be scary in a couple of years' time though.

I think Leo is giving him lessons.
But exiting prospect with a good pre season.
I think we have a competitive team for 2010.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

                    The kids

Apart from jesse other good signs hennebury's general play and a kick in second quarter to Jolly which set up a goal and did anyone see O'Dwyer go in front of Jonathan brown in last quarter to take a mark. Brave and bold... A Magic night even if we did lose. Much to look forward to.

On "The Fifth Qrtr" they were raving about White. They showed that goal on the run from the boundary, very impressive!

He had a ripper game and showed his athleticism and a bit of the baller in him. If only he converted that last quarter opportunity

I thought all the younger blokes had good games. Smith has talent, and will make a ripper midfielder in a couple years, Hanneberry also, as B1 moves on he will move in. We'll be lucky if we don't lose White to the GC so don't get too excited, but add Vez, Bird, Moore(needs to improve a little), Reg is really showing something, kicking eficiency aside, and we just need to find a couple more and start working on their fitness levels, with maybe a slight change in game style. Getting one of the young ruckmen up to speed should be a priority.I read in the LRT thread that some thought he looked ok in the ruck, personally I think the periods Jolly was off was what cost us the game, along with a dodgy 50m penalty. LRT is not as effective in ther ruck as Pyke, and when he is in the ruck he is sorely missed down back. Just rambling thoughts.....

Why would Jesse go to the GC? He just signed with us for 2 more years.
