    Recalling the centre bounce...

I just saw an incident in the Melbourne v Scum game. The umpore recalled the centre bounce, so threw it up again whilst a Melbourne player was still trying to get out of the centre square. The result was a free kick against that player for too many players in the cenmade.tre square.

Whilst this may be correct in the letter of the law, surely it is the umpires responsibility to ensure all players have returned to the outside of the square before he throws it up again? Instead, he grabbed the ball, threw it up, and despite the melbourne player sprinting to get out of the square, he was not given sufficient time to do so.

This seems to be typical of the results of knee jerk reaction rule changes between seasons....stupid decisions being

I didn't see this incident in question, but usually they get the other umpires to make sure the centre square is reset before they throw it up again.

Essendon are okay, (called the Bummers) except for Lloyd. St Kilda are just scum.

Talking of centre bounce recalls, last night at the SCG the umps found a new way to screw us over

Three times in the final quarter the Noble Stand was absolutely pumping with a chant which just got absolutely stopped in it's tracks when the scump blew the whistle to recall the bounce. Everybody stops clapping and screaming to groan 'Oh WTF'.

It was VERY noticeable to me, did anybody else feel it?

PS. I'm not really suggesting the scumps did it on purpose, I just put it down to their usual incompetence.
