Not quite sure why people think Staker's going to suddenly at his age become a significantly better player. Alternatively, not sure why people think that the player Staker is now, is anything we want or need.

He's from NSW! Broken Hill actually but don't let the fact it's closer to Adelaide than Sydney ruin the romantic notion of 'bringing home' one of our long lost sons.

Didn't we reach our quota for unco local ruckmen when we signed Playfair?

Staker will be a bigger challenge to make him a consistent player.

I can see no reason why Staker wouldn't play well as a third tall. He certainly is no forward.

We should help him, if only as a thank you for his almost BOG effort for us in the 2005 GF.

Yeah, he did us a few favours, didn't he? He could have kicked the winning goal if I remember correctly.

and gave away the 50 to Goodes.

He pushed Hall in the back with seconds on the clock at the end of the first quarter for a goal, fumbled the ball at the top of the goalsquare in the last quarter with a heap of time and space to collect and goal which would just about have put us away and as stated by Jeffers gave away a silly 50m to Goodes with a few minutes left.

I'm sure there was a few others, but for straight out clangers at crucial times in the biggest stage possible, there was few better performances.

Hmmm. Due to the above evidence yrhonour it would be wise if we do NOT take on one Brent Staker.

IMO Rhyce Shaw at his best was already that good. The issue was focussing him so that he produced his best much more consistently.

Whereas Brent Staker at his best... who knows what his all-time best game is. I don't know if his teammates would have even noticed it.
