    Another NSW boy slipped away?

Visiting melbourne to watch my nephew play in the VFL finals when i came across this in the local paper.

Still chasing the AFL dream - Star News Group

Does anyone know whether we are considering Rampe or any NSW boys for that matter? It seems we have a history of having players under our grasp and letting them slip to other clubs i.e. Klemke, Bruce, McNeil??..

By all reports, Mitch Frail who also played with the maggoo's last year is doing well over with Centrals in the SANFL and is being considered by other clubs.

With apparantly a 'weaker' draft than most, who are the NSW boys, if any, worth having a look at from left field?

Would love to see Rampe get a gig at the Swans. He kicked four goals for the ressies as a top-up last year, and probably has a tonne of upside, not picking up the game until late. I can also vouch (to an extent) for his professionalism, as he's a good mate of a good mate of mine, so I've had a bit to do with him over the years. Good bloke, disciplined, etc. He's a Sydney boy (not from the country), a Swans fan, and I dare say he's missing the Sydney beaches. Like to see him rookie-listed.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

McNeil will be drafted this year. Perhaps you were thinking of Breust.

Frail has played all games for Central District Reserves.

?My first coach was Matt Knicks who used to play for the Swans, so he took care of me,? Rampe said.
Was he that guy from New York ?

Just clarifying a few things. the person referred to as "matt knicks" in the article is in fact "Matthew Nicks" the ex-swan who coached UNSW last year. and secondly rampe didnt starting playing aussie rules in U17 as I played with him at Eastern Suburbs in U14 and he had been playing even earlier than that. so this article isnt entirely accurate.

It's fine saying that you want to see NSW boys drafted but they must be able to play at AFL level. The last time I saw Mitch Frail play he was a pipecleaner. Has his body shape changed?

Not yet. Know what you mean, frail by name and by build. But the kid can play and reads the game well, gets to the contest. He looks like he believes in himself.

Look what happened to Zac Dawson. Sometimes you just gotta have faith in them too!
