At quarter-time yesterday I was enjoying the Pies being toweled up and congratulating myself on tipping the Crows.

Well done the Pies for rolling over the Crows in the third quarter and then not panicking in the last few minutes. A classic.

When they were on the Crows were sensational -- 148 disposals in first quarter. You have to love the way they back themselves and run the ball, then kick long into the forward 50, over Maxwell's head (something for the Swans to ponder?).

The Pies remind me a bit of the Swans in 2005: under-rated, but they've won nearly every game in the second half of the season and have few injury worries. I still think the flag is the Saints' to lose but Collingwood can toss the Cats next week.

No real superstars, just a good team playing to their limits for each other. And as Shock said, a settled team due to few injuries.

You'd think the fans of a team that has won 1 flag would be humble and easy to discuss football with, but they're unbearable on BF and some of the posts on Saintsational are terrible.

Maybe they're much better irl, but I don't know any Saints supporters irl so I can only judge the ones online. I don't recall many arrogant Sydney supporters after we won our flag, in person or online, but I admit a few would have copped it more had we gone back to back.
