I like your theory Des. They let him go pretty easily so it might have been a handshake on the priviso he comes back if Kerry wins. If as someone said he wants to teach over here he might as well earn a bucket load before he goes on teachers wages. I wonder if he will be teaching Gaelic.

Glad to hear George Stone made the trip across as he was the one who brought Tadhg here basically and played a massive part in his development. I'm happy for him! But I'm torn about the comeback issue. We know he has the ability, but can his body stand up to another few years of AFL? He won't have Leo beside him in the backline (wait, maybe that's a good thing...)

Tadgh was a great player - but he slipped in '07 and injuries cruelled him in '08. Good on him for winning an All-Ireland, but he'll have lost a lot of the necessary aerobic fitness required in AFL. It'd be great to have the '05 Tadgh back, but he's lost the edge off the fantastic pace he had. I'd rather remember him for the great player he was, than come back and struggle.Comment

Is only me or does anyone else think that Tadhg wouldn't have signed his last contract unless he had an escape clause to go play back home. I thought we were lucky to have him as long as we did rather than any crap about breaking his contract.Comment

Noticed he was dealt a couple of good bumps to the shoulders (to which I think he mouthed, dont do that you bully in Gaelic terms) during the game and gave a couple of good bumps back and with all the new brilliant medical cartlidge and bone treatments he certainly looked ok. He has always been great not only on the team but also for morality and would be good for the new guy they are bringing in.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Had to smile at Roos' comment on Kennelly's game:
"He's a very smart player. I didn't know too much about the teams but I did know that Canty [Kennelly's opponent] was one of Cork's most important players and it looked like he wasn't a factor at all, and Tadhg did a terrific job on him."The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

The pressure to stay In Ireland is mounting....
No-one in Kerry, it seems, will be pushing him into a decision.Comment

I don't care if he comes back or not, I'm just so chuffed that one of the club's sons, and a favourite of mine certainly, has realised his dream. His press conference was so incredibly moving, more from what he didn't say, than what he did.
Well done Tadhg enjoy the moment.Comment

I know the main problem we all concentrated on in 08 was his shoulder popping in and out and affecting his tackling, but I was sure he had also lost that first enormous acceleration he previously had. Didn't seem to be so fast ovet the first ten metres as before, and it made him more vulnerable.
I've not seen the Kerry final, but would be interested in anyone's comments on his speed who did see it.Comment
