Fiction as no lists have been lodged and won't be until the end of October.

You won't get anything official for another month.

Fri, Oct 30, 2pm ? List lodgement one. Rookie promotion to primary list, retained second year rookies, retained third year international rookies, retained third year non-registered rookies

            Clearly irrelevant.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

How true Stella. I mean R&Ws all over know what's what, even if Tadgh and the Swans don't.

                List for 2010

Having a look at the current player list at sydneyswans.co.au it will have 38 players currently listed players (Kennedy & Seaby already added, McGlynn & Mumford to be added and Jolly to be removed).

What intersts me is how many draft picks will we be using. Pyke & Thornton are listed, not on the rookie list - have/will they be evelated?

I assume that Goodes and Kirk will be vetern listed (probably outside the list).

If this is the case, without some delistings (I'm looking at you Brabazon) Sydney will only have two spaces availabe for the draft. If there has/will not be any rookie elevations, then there are four pick available.

Sydney may not be as active in the draft as expected.

                Cheers

We only need the TWO picks we have in Round 1.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

                    We can assume -
                    Kennelly will be a retirement
Goodes & Kirk will move to the Vets list.
Orreal can be retained for a third year on the rookie list as he was a non registered player when we drafted him.
Pyke will become a second year rookie and as an international can be retained for a third year in 2011.

By my reckoning we have four spots at present and five selections up to pick 55.

Will be at least two more delistings to use 55 plus one in the PSD.

Not very exciting now trade week is over. Better mow the lawns,

Thornton should be promoted as well.

I think we'll end up with 5 picks in the ND possibly 1 or 2 rookie promotions and delist Braboy and Playbad

I'd be really surprised if Playfair is on the list next season.

There's no need to elevate anyone off the rookie list. Even Thornton.

I can't see Thornton making the seniors unless we have some injury problems, and if so, then he can be elevated. Pyke and Orreal can stay as well, We now have two decent ruckmen, and probably Currie will be next up, if healthy.

If you look at our list now, there will be plenty of competition just to make the 22. It will hard to fit in players like Hannebury, Merredith and O'Dwyer with both Kennedy and McGlynn added to the list. A lot will depend on how some of our 2009 injured players go in the Pre-season; thinking especially of Laidlaw, Schmidt, Merredith and DOK (more than just injury concerns here). If healthy, all of them could challenge for senior positions next year.

And of course, who knows how Malceski with do. Would be great to see him back to his pre-reco form.

If we can keep the list fit next year, I don't know about the AFL, but we should definitely be a force in Canberra.
