I bloody hope he doesn't ever turn out like Chambers, I don't think he will though.

Biggest difference is that Geelong and their supporters didn't want to see Mumford go whereas with Chambers they were falling over themselves to offload him...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I'm optimistic about Mumford - not exactly sure why but at least he is ready-to-go, and we've had a good record in recent times targeting these sorts of players and developing them.
Coming into the system late should mean he still has plenty to learn, and also get a lot fitter. There were only 4 games this year he played as the only ruckman for Geelong - unfortunately for him they were Rds 16-19 - which left him buggered and the obvious one to make way for Ottens.
My main memory of him this year was struggling against Hawthorn (the game where Mooney went into the ruck after half-time and turned the game). He is a dinosaur which goes against the modern trend of more agile ruckmen, but at least strong and no signs of the back or knee injuries most younger ruckmen struggle with.
Most likely more of a work horse and in danger of getting exposed on big grounds against the athletic ruckmen ? less of an issue at the SCG.Comment
