Ricky Nixon was on SEN and was quite clear that there are a few times when he is told "sorry but don't even talk about your player to that club 'cos we won't deal with that @@@@@." Didn't mention the specifics of which clubs and which @@@@@, though.

      Did mention Collingwood, though.

He has to stop promising players deals and then trying to get them for free.
What a load of rubbish pedalled by the media swallowed by the lemmings that the facts refute

O'Keefe has already stated Hawthorn were never a consideration in 08, Pelchen didnt want to pay over the odds for Thornton in 07 & which the last 2 years have proven to be the correct decision.

If Hawthorn wanted to screw Port Adelaide on Burgoyne thay could have rolled the dice offered them nothing and taken him with pick 9 in the National Draft, its very unlikely that any of the clubs with the previous 8 picks would have taken a 27 year old instead of a kid.

Cracks me up that clubs reckon Hawthorn screwed them in trades, you only had to watch the previous 2 years tape to know that Lonie was a squib, Thompson was old and injured and not worth a first round pick and that Jon Hay was completely gone.

The Roos and PA both traded draft picks to get them so no one was holding a gun to their head and they didnt stand to lose a player so they must have been happy with the deals at the time.

It wasn't a matter of patching things up, it was merely naming Carlton as the most likely destination over Hawthorn. He wasn't saying that he was never going, he was just saying that he wasn't going to Hawthorn.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

Word is that it wasn't Hawthorn who made the overtures.
