The biggest Improver, the biggest disappointment, the biggest surprise

Improver: Grundy : ended up a class act and a player we can rely on.Started with just potential and a habit of being wobbly with the ball in his hand.

Disappointment: Moore: Should have kicked on,was in our leadership group and had everything to play for.Did not produce enough ,just the occassional flash and at best will end up another Schneider.

Surprise: Hannebury: Amazing effort for a schoolboy! Who could have predicted his wonderful debut

I reckon you've hit the nail on the head with all three there.

Although Moore's best game was his last against the pies, before putting his body and lungs on the line to give us (Bevan) a goal. We were doing alright up to that point of the game.

Grundy still has a wobbly boot, but his improvement in confidence far out wayed those few misdemeanours.

      Hannebury, Enough said.

White would have to be a Most Improved/Surprise (for those of us who do not see the 2's.

      Biggest disaapopintment - Hall

          Improver - White

Disappointment - Malceski not bouncing back. Also injuries to youngsters, particularly Veszpremi.

Surprise - Losing 1/3 of our premiership players (Hall, Buchanan, Jolly, Magic, Leo, Crouchy, Kennelly, Fosdike) all in one year.

Grundy's improvement to me just shows the benefit of giving a player a position, playing them consistently and developing their confidence and role in the team. Grundy was not doing well when he was in an out of the team.

My best improved is a Grundy/White combo.

Most disappointing - the big Cheese; and Hall.

            Surprise: no surprise with Dannerbery

              Most improved: Grundy

Most disappointing: 3 way tie - Malceski, Bevan and Moore

Biggest suprise: MOD carving it up in the one's. I wrote him off after watching him in the reserves (couldn't hit a barn door) but he was awesome.

Special mention to LRT for taking his game to another level too.

Good on you Captain. For heavens sake I forgot MOD!!! I was hoping he would make it, and I am so pleased for him.

AND Lewie, you are quite right, somehow the penny finally dropped that he was a required and respected senior player, who could play. And did. Can't tell you how much pleasure that gave me, as a mother hen.

improver: hard to pick between White, Grundy and MOD. I suppose I would choose Reg if forced.

dissappointing: no big wins for either Kirky's milestone or Magic-Leapin'-Crouch's farewell game

surprise: The kids can play! The future does not look bleak, in fact it looks exciting.

Most Improved: Grundy. Penciled him in as a forward only but he really looked at home in the backline.

Disappointment: Game - Round 22, i was really shattered that we couldn't get up for Micky O, Leo and Crouchy. The comeback was great though.

Player - Malceski. Complete shocker from him although i expect him to bounce back next year and stake a claim back in the 22.

Surprise - Nick Smith. Guy has turned into a genuine gun and looks so composed on the big stage. How good was him bouncing off an Alex Rance bump against Richmond? Smitty was running on the wing while Rance came off the bench to his blind side, hit him, Smith stayed on his feet and kept going while Rance came off second best.

Funniest thing all year! Rance charges off the bench, 10 metres onto the ground he hits Smith. Smith charges goalward with narry a pause and Rance limps off the ground again
