    Pus & Pain

Be very prepared for an era of disappointments and losses on a regular basis Until there is a new game plan to suit our current personel we haven't got a hope of finishing in top 8. If we couldn't do it last year with the team we had, how the hell are we expected to improve in the forthcoming years.
The coaching staff have for the past 5-6 years have been sticking to one style of play.
It's time to let Longmire to introduce a new game plan preferably from the start of the season to enable us to quicken our rise in the position on the ladder.
    cheers

I personally feel the above comments are simply rhetoric from commentators who have nothing else to say !!

I feel that there are so many factors to acknowledge in assessing what is achievable in styles of play for a team......2010 will be much of the same as it is a game plan which is robust week to week with the inferior quality of players we have compared to the top 5 teams.

Our game plan was fine.........we did control large parts of games against most teams outside the Top5 which is a great effort.........biggest factor was carrying a few oldies in 2009 ie a couple of our old forwards struggled when they had to defend against small quick players coming out of defence.......which lead to some one on nones upfront......as our half back line has to make crunch decisions when out numbered........a coach killer !!

Overall we did the best with what we had in a balancing act of honouring our fella's that did so much in the past, honouring their final year contracts and blooding youth for 2010

If we went all out with youth in 2009 they would been a team that got smashed every week.......which would have demoralised our youth......and caused a negative spiral of culture in 2010 off season and season.

All that said........really the only difference is can we play a turn and go style in large periods of the game.........in 2010 we can only play a faster style if we have the forwards who can genuinely make great breaks and keep the play rolling............Time will tell............but for me the controlling of the tempo of the game by slowing it down and being masters of throw ins and ball ups is still a great strength for us and a platform to fall back on always !

      What Auntie said.

      (Well said BTW.)
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Agree, well said Auntie. I have absolutely no problem with how we played in 2009, only thing they need to focus on is that 1 quarter out of 4 where our players just fell asleep and the oppostition scored heavily against us. Maybe this is due to the inexperience of the kids. Having said that, I feel we got our fair share of the ball in 2009, even dominated possession against many teams, even the top teams, just not being able to convert that dominance onto the scoreboard like we did in 2003-07, again I feel this is due to the inexperience of the kids.

I confess I'm baffled by the title of this thread. I can only assume, after checking my keyboard, that swans song hit P instead of L and U instead of O. The thought of a season of Puss coming up freaked me right out.
          Otherwise I agree with Auntie.

I was going to say something till I realised Auntie had said it all.

Anyone who saw us almost win against the two tops teams - with the kids doing all the running and carrying the oldies - and can't see how our lock down and bounce back style is the only way to win a Premiership is certainly not on the same page. Saints, Cats, Hawks have excellent defence and that's what we train our team for first.

If you wanted to complain about slowness to respond about match day match ups, maybe there's an argument to make.

puss is the fluid associated with festering sores that usually occurs after pain and can usually be cured by quick remedies otherwise they heal naturally and usually takes considerable time. At no time was I saying they were pussy/pussies

I thought we were talking about cats when I opened the thread.

And I agree with Auntie and Go.

                            It is.

Mine was sick for 5 years with an intestinal disorder of which I forget the name now. I had to give it a tablet twice a day and 10 ml of this special oil twice daily as well.

                            I don't dare think otherwise.
