Well it's now offical and if he took the time to meet with the Swans before announcing that he will be leaving, then it's a fair bet he was seeking an assurance from us that we will take him and they have agreed upon a strategy and price to enable it to happen.

Bradshaw turns down offer to stay a Lion - AFL.com.au
dont forget that he is 31 in nov 2009.......but he is an interesting proposition given our forward losses and if we only had to sign for 2yrs at the right price"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Rubbish. There is plenty of room for 2 key forwards. Don't be scared of the twin tower concept.
If we don't get Bradshaw we will surely play Goodes forward. Are you going to argue that will hinder White's development?
I think 2 years out of Bradshaw will be perfect in developing Johnson as well + allow Goodes to play midfield.Comment

Perhaps Henry's hammy will be the determining factor....

This list confirms that we have 6 senior spots to fill (including by rookie promotions). It looks like 4, but it's inevitable that when the list is lodged, Kirk and JBolt (or Goodes instead of one of them: doesn't matter) will become outside veterans, effectively giving us a 40-man senior squad (no possible reason not to, unless we need to count our veterans' full salary to get to the mandatory minimum 92.5% of the cap!).
That 6 becomes 7 if Playfair doesn't make the cut.
In that context, it'd a bloody stretch for anyone to say, 'we don't need a 31 year old clogging our list when we should be bringing on the kids'. We're going to have kids coming out of our backsides in 2010 (and 2011, and 2012...). The ones who are good enough will earn a spot in the 22.
Also, Bradshaw is not a hulking man-mountain, at 191cm/95kg. He's a little heavier than, but about the same height as, MOL. That is to say, he's a natural FP or 'smaller' FF. He would not play the same role in the team as White (and no-one plays the same role as Adam Goodes).Last edited by SimonH; 16 October 2009, 08:26 PM.Comment

Oh dear, I think I'm imcriminating myself in more ways than one. Same goes for all the other posters calling for yoof at all expenseNothing wrong with being competitive between flags
Richmond took that "lets play the yoof as they're part of our next Premiership team" line too. And look where that got them!
I think he's awesome, and very under-rated. I'm with 99% of RWO'ers on this thread in saying 'yes please' to the possibility.
