The club?s quota of games at ANZ Stadium has been reduced from four to three in 2010, with the clash against fierce rival West Coast being played at the SCG in round five on a Saturday afternoon.

Swans play four of the other seven 2009 bottom 8 sides twice. Of the top 8, they only play Geelong, Brisbane and the Western Bulldogs, twice. All things consider its not a bad draw.

That said, don't build your hopes too high for victories in Round 2 (Adelaide, AAMI), and Round 13 (Collingwood ANZ). Sydney will NOT win those particular games, as night follows day! Putting it bluntly, Neil Craig and Mick Malthouse are both superior match day coaches compared with the otherwise great Paul Roos.

Should stand in the outer. We obviously rarely win down there (think the last time we won, Lockett was still playing) but it still makes for an enjoyable day, engaging in the banter with the Geelong ferals

          Suck it in Maltmouth.

?On first appearance, it looks daunting,? Malthouse said of the fixture.

?You know we?re playing the top three sides twice, whereas I think the others are only playing each other once, so it?s a bit of a mystery draw.?

The veteran coach acknowledged there was little the Pies could do about the fixture, nor would they worry about it.

?It doesn?t mean anything; the draw?s the draw,? he said.

?That?s the way it is ... you can?t do much about it, except play.?

The draw looks good - except for the start. But if we got a win in R1 or R2 confidence would be high. Especially R1!

We ran Geelong to 5 points in Rd 20 at ANZ this year, so beating St Kilda there isn't out of the question.

That is a very good draw on paper. Of course, now we need lots of luck and football gods to smile.

i like the draw, we get AAMI against Crows)& Skiled done early in the season

AAMI against port is always winnable for us and depending on the shockers we would win against them at Subi..

11 wins will get you in the 8 this year..

Facing a grand finalist in round 1, the following year, is as good a time to play them as any.
They'll be 4 weeks behind us from their late preseason start and less recovery time from off season surgery etc.

I'm more interested in the free-to-air TV coverage. Last year was pretty bad.

Good point EK. It's been so long since we missed finals that I forgotten the difference in training times. Of course, we only have a summer to pull together what is substantially a new team. I wonder if we'll try a new game plan too?

Here's a list for you. I don't think the club will be happy. 7 FTA vs 14 Fox and assume round 22 would be Fox as well.
