    Ablett to play for GC17

Nathan Ablett that is. Reported on ABC radio today that he will start training with GC in the new year and will continue his career with the club.

Got me excited for a minute there rev.

But I thought he didn't want to play footy anymore?

    How fickle.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I reckon being away from the Melbourne media will be good for him.

He's been playing for Broadbeach this year when not injured. GC17 have been hunting him for months.

Worth pointing out that he is playing for match payments only. He has no obligation to stay with the franchise through to 2011 and is no certainty to return to the AFL. This year he's just been kicking it around and enjoying his football, and if he can do the same in the VFL, great, and maybe that leads to a return to the AFL. If not, then he can always go back to playing for Broadbeach. By all accounts they loved having him this year.

Good on im for giving it a run though.

I think he was over always being compared to the Gary's - so thought he'd make his own life on his terms elswhere - and if he's enjoying his footy, he's happy living the quiet life then good on him. Things will change though once the Gold Coast Nuggets get up and running. He and the Hunt boy may be the "faces" of the new franchise.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
