Got it from an absolute gold plated, impeccable, high ranking inside source with unparalleled knowledge of Brett's club that his skills and decision making qualities are exquisite but his fitness and attitude to fitness are no where near AFL standard at this point, However given that VFL players are not full timers (unless already on AFL list) then this is perhaps understandable.

I had a chat with Brett on the day BBBH retired and there's no mistaking they're brothers. He said he thought he was too old to get into the team, but if we do give him a mature rookie spot I feel very confident that we will see that footy is in the blood. If there is a plan to bring him up to be with Adam and their Mum, Roosy will already have him inspired and his fitness levels would be 200% on where they were.

I can only hope.
