    Crunch time for Barlow

    Crunch time for Barlow

After 25 games in four seasons, Ed Barlow knows that 2010 is a make-or-break season

He could succeed if he gets two-paced. I think he lets himself down by having no "sprint" in him when he has the ball, or when he is close to the ball. He just seems to be fast jogging all day.

Winning 20 metre runs as well as 3km runs would be better news

yep I think that it is either Teddy or Barlow who get the spot on the bench that interchanges in attack and defence where needed when all players fit and playing !

I've said this before and I'll say it again....

What he NEEDS to do is, after taking a mark 70-80 metres out from goal, turn around IMMEDIATELY and look to pass off to a leading forward, NOT jog slowly back to take your kick with your back to your leading forwards...Geez this guy was annoying the crap out of me last year cause he did this time and time again.

Roos' description of the Swans last year also fits Barlow - there's a big gap between his best footy and his worst.

Better awareness, harder running - yes; but I suspect most important for this young bloke is self-belief. If he could put together what we see in fragments, he could do just about anything.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Make or break year for Barlow in 2010.

I am officially putting him (And RWO) on notice. He is my bunny next year. I will be all over him like I was McVeigh in 07, Bevan 08, Ablett 09. Will he turn the corner like McVeigh??? Or will he get delisted like Ablett??

                    I'm sure he's crapping himself.

i dont think it is make or break though as I stated before a guy of his height and flexibility in positions at a bargain price can be a feature for him to hang around for a couple more years
