What is your definition of an "inside mid" if you don't think Robert Harvey was a great exponent of exactly that role?

- ability to win plenty of ground level contested possessions
- ability to navigate through heavy traffic while in possession

The first of this is the bread and butter of any good inside mid. The second was one of the things that set Harvey apart from many lesser inside mids - unlike the likes of Judd and Goodes, who can do this with a combination of brute strength and speed, Harvey had his side-step and his ability to keep his feet in a tackle.

That is very different to a true outside mid, who usually doesn't need to navigate through traffic because their skill is to run hard or fast into space to receive the ball and not have any traffic through which to navigate.

You could probably add his engine. Guy figured the best way to beat a tag was run him ragged, and he did so many times to great effect.

Guess Harvey could do almost anything.The thing I most liked about him was the way he went about his business week in week out.What a great player he was.

IMHO, Moore will have to move into the midfield to solidify his place in the senior squad. The big question has been whether he has to the aerobic capacity to play in that role.

I think his aerobic capacity is alright but his endurance is his nemesis.

Moore, will need to do more to get a regular game this year. He will start off in the seniors, but wouldn't be surprised if blokes such a Tyson Dennis-Lane (or whatever his name is) are picked before him before the end of the season.

With 66 goals last year ? in the WAFL, I would certainly hope he gets a go.This guy can find the ball and kick straight.Moore had a golden chance last year to really cement a place in the Seniors.I fear he blew this chance and now faces massive competition just to get a game. If Hyphen- Tyson gets a run and kicks 3 or 4 he will be in the side in his place. The trouble or fantastic thing about the squad now is you could say the same thing about 3 or 4 blokes on every line.We got depth!!!!

As a leading forward he hasn't got the pace or height to take clean marks in front of his opponent.

As a crumbing forward he doesn't have the pace to get clear possession.

As a midfielder he doesn't have the arobic capacity to get to contest after contest, and gets run off easily.

As a forward he has good body strength and from my vague memories of games past, he has been able to take a good one-on-one mark. If only he was 10cm taller...
