I LOVED the hit that Bradshaw did on his on team mate and knocked him clean out (6min 15secs)

Jonathon brown went down like a sack of monkey @@@@ !....then got picked up by two trainers to the sound of "its a small world after all, its a small world after all.....:
"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Prehaps he can now do the same to our own Rhesus Macaque some time in 2010?

Well not really. Form means SFA when you're not on the park for weeks at a time due discipline issues. Even when he did play he was a liability, the Hawks game being a prime example.

IMO Bradshaw is a massive upgrade on what we've had over the last 2 seasons from Hall

In terms of overall career stats, Bradshaw isn't even that far behind Hall which is impressive on a couple of fronts:

        1. He spent alot of time at Full Back during Brisbane's premiership years when Lynch and Brown were up front; and

        2. Unlike Hall, he has been part of a 2 pronged attack with Brown in the post Lynch years which has meant he hasn't had the same opportunities as Hall.

DB is much underrated and had he played for a Victorian club he would be regarded as a star

Agree to disagree on the Hall part - I don't think he was a liability when he was actually playing. Ironically he was our best player in his last game for the club.

As for the rest of it, what was O'Loughlin? OK, he wasn't your traditional power forward but that's where he played.

I personally don't think Bradshaw would've been good enough to front an attack on his own. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to have him and I think he's the perfect fit for us but I reckon he's rated about right.

I haven't looked at the stats but tend to go on gut feeling. When Bradshaw has the ball in his hands I expect him to kick a goal. Likewise for Fev - or Hunter (the weasel!). On the other hand, when I see the mark taken by Baz or Reiwoldt I'm much less certain. It depends if they are "on" at the time.

I agree that Bradshaw is very underestimated by the Melbourne press. In their simplistic minds there was Baz in Sydney and Brown in Brisbane - both stars and then there were some other guys running around with then - rather than, say Collingwood with its multiple forward-playing geniuses.

Also, you'd have to compare Bradshaw with Magic, surely? Brisbane and Sydney had similar structure with the gorilla HF (Brown and Hall) and the clever FF (Bradshaw and Magic). It'll be interesting to see what structure we use with Goodes, Bradshaw and White.

            Exciting times.

Yeah, I agree with that. Someone else compared Hall and Bradshaw, I just responded. That's exactly why Bradshaw is the perfect fit for us - he doesn't need to be the number 1 forward and he won't be. I suspect that may have been the reason that he nominated us ahead of Carlton.

The thing with Bradshaw that he has over hall (In their respective times of their career imo) is that he is still a match winner on his day. The last couple of years with Hall his ill discipline has imo meant he has lost that aura he once had and the ability to take a game by the scruff of the neck. Bradshaw however, is just as an effective forward imo and has proven time and time again he is a quality forward.

I can't wait to see our forward line next year. If White, Goodes and Bradshaw click as a combination, we are going to kick a lot of goals and win a lot of games. There are few teams out there with the ability to close down 3 big dangerous forwards like that. Of course, they have to recieve the service from midfield for it to become a problem for other teams, but I have faith we are on the right track there. One thing is for sure- if we click up forward and the midfield can do a decent job, then we are going to paste a few teams along the way, especially at the SCG

Roos has already said it. Bradshaw to take over the MOL role closer to goal and next to JW, and Goodes at CHF. Pretty gutsy forward line.

Really loved big Bazza and would have loved it if he stayed (what a forward line Bazza, Bradshaw and JW would have made, i need to change my pants) but you dont see Bradshaw drop simple marks like Baz did. Plus Bradshaw is a superior kick for goal. Very pleased to have him and IMO a better player for us to have.

You won't see frustration tantrums from Bradshaw, he won't be ill disciplined, he will get a fair go from the ump, he will kick straighter, he's two years younger and he cost us nothing to get.

One mustn't count chickens before they hatch but I'm very comfortable with the Hall/Bradshaw "swap".

Now I just need to get MY zipap players into the forward line - Jack, Barlow, TDL and I'll be really happy.

I only just realised Bradshaw is only 191cm. I always thought he was taller than that, probably 194-196cm.
I really am shocked but I suppose the comments about him taking up Magic's role make sense now.

BTW Tony Lockett was only 191 cm short too.
