Swans the early birds in 2010

A couple of observations on the article in today's HUN:

    1. Tadhg still has a lot of tape on that shoulder but looks fit and happy
    2. Should we be worried that "Ex-Brisbane forward Daniel Bradshaw, 31, is having his workload monitored"?
    3. Why do we suddenly care about the NAB Cup?

Geez we better win that game out at Rooty Hill. We'd look like right old turkeys if we don't.

It would only be an indication of his age. Playing as a forward he probably doesn't need as much of a pre season either (compared to Kirk for example).

So Roos is planning to coach another team. Wonder who he has his eyes on?

That... and he played a couple of weeks of finals too, so he is in a position not unlike elder statesmen Swans in seasons past.

As for Tadhg, he may have healed with a year off but the structure of his shoulder remains such that he will be prone to the same sorts of injuries in the future.

In the photos of today's hour long practice match Tadhg didn't have any strapping on his shoulder..maybe the HUN photo is from another time.
He did have a cap on though..to stop his head getting burnt maybe.

When I saw that picture I wondered whether the Australian sun had spurred his hair to regrow. It being an old picture is possibly a more logical explanation...

Posted this reply, don't know if it'll get printed :

"The Swans have completed a stealth rebuild. ROK to midfield alongside a stronger, fitter JMc, the return of the Tadhger and Goodes, Bradshaw and Jesse (Young Richo?) White all forward. Add that to what was, arguably, the best offseason/trade period in the comp. Our depth will shock the sheep-like commos who get paid to know, and keep our first team hungry.
Look for break outs from Kjack and Jesse ">>>Tom Hawkins" White; with possible and semi-breakouts from Reg Grundy, Mummy, LRT, Kennedy, Hanneberry, Smith, Vezpa, Lois Lane and maybe even Barlow. Oh, and Nick "KB's Man W/ The Golden Boot" Malceski on the re-break. Goodes, ROK and McVeigh all freed up for AA-quality mayhem this year."
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

Tadhg also looks much different in this picture, so the strapping one is obviously quite old.

What is unique about the structure of his shoulder?

He probably has hyper-mobility, meaning his joints are a touch loose, meaning he has a predisposition to bones grinding against cartilage and dislocation. I have the same thing; I partially tore a ligament in my left shoulder bowling at cricket training, despite the fact that I'm a right arm bowler. Just lifting my left arm up and down suddenly as part of my action was enough to grind away at the cartilage, because the "ball" in the ball and socket joint was bobbling around a bit.

That was pretty much how it was explained to me. And as BSA5 points out it's not unique....
