I used to love nothing more (before more away) than sitting in the sun on a Sunday arvo watching the footy. A pair of sunnies, a red & white cap and the sun was something to be enjoyed.

Along with redheads, even the winter sun is far too strong for the geeks and nerds in ths place!!

I LURV the sun, but I'd have to sacrifice the game on view to sit in it on gameday. I've been in the same seat since 1997. Way too, too, too, too big a sacrifice.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I liked the Brewongle (sat there for 13 years in the upper deck) but really didn't rate the people around me, always late, always quiet and just wasn't what I knew of how to support Footy! I am sure that is not the same for every area, but mine was a snooze fest unless it was close with 2 minutes to go. I get pretty vocal and didn't really care about them most of the time but decided on a move when the guy next to me (who had been there since 1997) asked me what year Wanganeen left us lol.....

Loved the move to the O'Reilly Stand last year, generally boisterous, the Sydney chant seems to start pretty naturally and people get fired up without too much prompting.

I am sure I wouldn't have considered a move if I had some passionate footy people around me but very glad that I did.

The corner of the Churchill nearest the goal does have a sun problem - till after half-time for 1pm start games. Obviously the further from the corner the earlier the problem is gone

That same corner also occasionally got wet, depending on the wind. The building of the Trumper stand may have fixed that problem.

O'Reilly, 50 metre line at VT end, gave us a perfect in-line view of Cressa's after-the-siren goal to beat the _______ (kanga's?) several years ago, as well as countless shots from our 50 to the VT end goal. Tis beautiful to watch the ball off the boot sail through the big sticks - sometimes curving, sometimes not. We also sang the Barry Hall Song for the last couple of years, sadly, never to be reprised after that fateful day in 2009. Just when we were penetrating down to the concourse as well......thanks Baz

After many years in the MA Noble we moved to the Churchill three season ago and we love it there. Reserved seat, great view just to the left of the goals (I grew up watching footy behinds the goals in my Glenelg cheer squad days).
