NAB Cup Rd 1 - Swans v Carlton Match Thread

Ground and crowd looks great on the screen....

In match action, scrappy first quarter as expected. Great to see Tadhg back out there and Ted as well.

Mostly been watching to see what our new recruits look like and McGlynn has looked very impressive in the first quarter. Jetta's foot speed will be an asset, but good to see he can use the ball as well with the pass to McGlynn. Even though he was criticised on draft day, Rohan looked like there was definite intent with an early tackle.

And a very random end to the first quarter - for once having a clock on the big screen has been of benefit coz the umps could see the horn they thought was the siren wasn't....

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

    That was different.

I do love the way the game began with Bevan kicking out of bounds on the full.

Lane has also been really inconsistent with his disposal, but he's getting to the ball quite a lot.

Jetta had one awesome burst of pace down the middle.

Nice to see he hasn't lost his skills over the summer

Rohan's showing that he's much closer to senior footy that expected. A great long pass there to Dennis-Lane for a goal and already some solid tackles.

Two simple frees against Marty "Supergoal" Mattner...
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

Pretty pleased with that. Very congested and few 'highlights' but several things caught the eye. Bird racking em up as usual, Jetta's run and kick into the forward line. Rohan did a few things that caught the eye and Kennedy late in the quarter was good. Seaby servicable.

Hopefully the second half provides a bit more open play.

Noticed that too. Does he ever say "it is beyond him"?

Anyway, Malceski is looking quite good, Bird is finding plenty of it, and Seaby doing reasonably in the ruck.

Seaby looks good around the ground. Nice pace.

Get McGlynn ORF. Nice crossover from Mal there.
