For a split second I thought that Pyke was going to clean up Milne. That was pretty exciting!

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -

Pretty happy with that game - not the loss but some good signs. O'Dwyer shows a lot - if he could improve his disposal he's a big chance.
Rohan a great tackler and blokes from Cobden are usually good players for SM/Syd.
Grundy came back against Riewoldt very well - thought he was getting pantsed in the first 1/4 but stopped his opponent and did some good things himself. McGlynn was Ok as was Mumfords ruck work.
Teddy was pretty good all night I thought and I wouldn't get too worried about Goodesy - he was cruising.
Anyone else reckon Kosi looks 'lacking condition'?Comment

Well well well..so close. I nearly had to eat my words. What a great showing. Some good signs.
Currie in the first half showed he will be good when he gets some confidence. Seemed very shy.
Rohan showed some excellent signs
Bevan did his job again down in the forward line.
Malceski showed some glimpses of good form.
White's mark and kick for goal fantastic as was Marty Mattner's laser pass.
Seaby improved 500% on last weeks game.
Mumford showed a lot.
Goodes seemed lost which was a pity but the Tv didn't show what else he was doing so I would like someone who was at the game to comment.
I was very pleased, very pleased indeed but would like to have won."The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

good game, pretty exciting stuff. I think we have a chance of beating them in rd 1.
Really pleasing the defensive pressure all round the ground from us.
Maybe I missed something but didn't Jetta execute a perfect tackle out of nowhere, plum HTB and it wasn't paid?? That pissed me off.Comment

O'Dwyer is showing some good signs, just a few errant disposals. The continued hand-passing into traffic lets us down, although kicking long into the forward line wasn't overly successful either due to the inability of forwards to take a mark. But it's early days and with so many new players in the team, they need time to gel.
A better than expected result, given that the Saints also beat the Pies by one kick last week.

I really liked the short splash of Jesse that we saw.
Rohan makes things happen- it's exciting to see that has instantly translated from TAC Cup to NAB Cup level footy!I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

LRT - kept Kosi really quiet. Some nail biting moments when in possession though. Like when he walked the ball over the line thinking he had marked it.Comment

In the first half our centre clearance work was better than I have seen for years. Maybe the new holding rules are going to work in our favour . Who would have thought that?
Jack read the ball beautifully off the pack at one stage as did McGlynn.
Kennedy is very unobtrusive but does that stuff in the packs such as clearing a path for others .

Apart from the 9 pointer i thought Seaby was pretty good. Mumford was very disappointing IMO but seemed to be just eased into the game.
Goodes was the real concern. Was absolutely useless once the ball hit the deck. I think he may of put on too much bulk, but i'm sure he'll be fine by round 1 (praying that he is).Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

I think if it was a fair dinkum game Roosy would have moved Goodesy into the midfield to force Gwilt to run. It was a matchup we can expect in round 1 but Adam might be on the ball which might throw a spanner in the Saints works. White to CHF for that game.Comment
