Swans to sell technology to Man Utd

Maybe not a huge money spinner but can't be a bad thing to get a relationship with Utd. Just wish they'd link up with Liverpool instead - maybe the software could sort out Torres.

Torres won't be at Liverpool next season, liz, so what would be the point? The Reds won't be able to afford him after missing out on the UCL knock-out phase, and missing fourth spot!!

I wish they weren't selling it to the Dark side of Manchester and were instead selling it to the team from Manchester that plays in Blue, but the club is a business and with the Swans recent financial performance, any extra cash coming in would be a welcome addition.

Just need to make sure we get United to pay up front- otherwise we might not get paid at all with their ever increasing debts!

European clubs are lining up to get a piece of our secret system

Not many more details on it. Despite Andrew "Gates" Ireland saying "It's not software!" it does seem a combination of software and the Swans database, plus something in how they use the data to manage the players.

It's not a big earner - I guess it won't add to our third party slush fund (!) but looks like a big win if they can build relationships with big European clubs. Even leaguies are into it!

We're the smartest club in the league. In several leagues in fact.

Last year in the Telegraph, I believe, there was a couple of weeks worht of articles detailing how Manly was using "brand new technology" to track players and beat the opposition. No one bothered to check that the AFL had been using the GPS tracking system since 2000. The AFL with it's stringent salary cap has promoted rapid and ground-breaking growth in Sports Science as teams try to get the edge over the competition, and unlike the NRL we've got the funds to do it. It's not the largest league in the world, but it's certainly one of, if not the most, advanced.
