Grundy - I want to be like Adam

I thought Reg was going to struggle to be a really good defender because he lacks the closing speed of someone like Craig Bolton. Even last year, when he improved immensely, he still didn't look particularly quick. I don't know how they've done it, but he seems to have become significantly quicker over one short off-season. His ability to catch-up to Riewoldt on some of those leads was very encouraging. -
There was a great shot in The Sunday Age showing Reg (I think, but they labelled it Mattner) just outreaching Riewoldt. He certainly seems to have stepped up a gear or two.Goodes said Grundy had been a difficult opponent during training because of his speed and agility.
"There've been times when it's been hard for me to even touch the ball, he's been so tightly manned-up on me," said Goodes. "You think you have a couple of metres on him and his closing speed is really good and he can jump high."
This one:http://www.smh.com.au/photogallery/a...0228-pavj.htmlHe reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

There's a lot of work to be done Reg.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

At times on Sat he looked absolutely shattered - but I guess playing on a bloke like Roo will do that to you. Anyway, after being found out a few times in the first 10 mins, he bounced back superbly (altho it was comical to hear the Saints supporters groaning every time their precious wasn't given a free kick from a contest he didn't win).Comment

This is good, thanks giant. It means the Rego is able to look after himself and his mindset. Just a little whoohoo at this stage. Larger ones are being stored up for future. If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Look forward to watching him make the most of his opportunity, not comparing him to what Goodes has achieved.
