I'm sure she turned up on the day with a batch of scones for the rest of the team!!!

Voice is annoying but she's fine otherwise. She's got Dwayne Russell well and truly covered.

          Edited for accuracy.

Kelly's fine by me, I've gotten used to the voice. It was hard at first though.

She's informed, on-topic and respectful of her audience - hard to imagine anyone less fit to be a commentator.

Yes, she is all of these things BUT, what most on here are saying is it's the nasaly tone of her voice that is so irritating. For some reason I can tune out to the inane ramblings of other commentators, though Wall's, Taylor and Parkin really push the limit, but I find her drone gets into my head, much like those dreadful accents of the South African commentators on the super 14s.

Oh there's one of the Saffer s14 commentators I cannot stand....makes Kelly Underwood sound like a symphony orchestra in comparison!

Her voice makes me sick. Rather listen to pigs being slaughtered. Have they not asked anybody for their opinion on this? I can't imagine anyone enjoying her voice..

I don't like her voice as a commentator either but this way over the top. How would you like it if this was said about you or anyone of your family. This is not nice at all.

Whilst i agree that polkagris' comments were way over the top and quite offensive, they aren't trying to make a living by inflicting their voice on the populace like Ms Underwood. As Wardy stated earlier in the thread, a sinus scrape wouldn't go astray.

Her tone is just horrible. And what she says is too filled with stock sayings & cliches.

But I just can't handle her tone of voice. When Bartell kicked the winning goal against the Hawks & her voice cracked it was EWWWWWW. She completely ruined a bloody exciting sporting moment by howling like tomcat on a summer's night.

Like a rookie Kellie is taking time to feel she belongs, I'd much prefer her to Schwartz, or Tim Lame dribbling on about the woe of Tassie not having a team

I think she'll get better with confidence. She's probably worried about making mistakes and is relying on a safe strategy with her stock of standard lines. Give her a chance I say. Others may follow and in the long run should help the AFL's appeal to its vast legion of female supporters.

I really struggle with her voice as a commentator as well - I started mucking about with my stereo to see if I could improve the sound the last time I heard her, it was very distracting. The strange thing is that her voice is fine when conducting interviews and just tallking in a normal manner. She has poise and her intonation is pleasing to the ear.

The public would be better served (and I would be a keen listener) if she hosted the broadcast (before and after the game, halftime etc - and made that her own - let the world listen to insightful comments from someone other than those that have just given their opinions all through the game).

However, she unfortunately seems to develop a monotone sound when the action starts (not sure why).
