    Sydney best and fairest

Before anyone says 'hey it's way too early to talk about this stuff' I've gotta say of course I agree. But we've all gotta talk about something over the next two weeks before we can get into the real footy! So here we go.

The reason I find odds interesting is that they're based on ratios of where everyone puts their money, therefore you get an accurate idea of what people are thinking. With that in mind let's have a look at where your favourite Swan stands to win the club Best and Fairest. Of course anyone not there we can assume are paying beyond $26. Thoughts?

    Ryan Okeefe 4.00
    Adam Goodes 4.00
    Brett Kirk 7.50
    Jarrad Mcveigh 7.50
    Any Other Player 7.50
    Rhyce Shaw 11.00
    Jude Bolton 13.00
    Craig Bolton 15.00
    Kieran Jack 23.00
    Daniel Bradshaw 26.00

Jack is very good value at $23. Plays the type of roles that could snare a lot of votes off the coaching staff if he goes ok and based on historical comparisions, it's probably going to be his big breakthrough year.

However, we have a habit of turning turning our recycled boys into B&F winners, so Bradshaw, Seady, McGlynn or Kennedy are in with a shot!.

Under Eade they won. Under Roos they've been more likely to be a place getter.

My sentimental tip is Jude Bolton. He's been such a workhorse servant of the club and over the last couple of seasons, seems to have taken his game up a level or two. He's also been in fine form over the pre-season. What better way to cap off a fine (and often underrated) career with the club than to take home a Bobby?

My head, though, says that if we are to be as successful this year as I hope, we need the likes of Macca, ROK and Goodes to have stellar and consistent seasons. And if they do, they should outpoll B1, even if he himself has a pretty good year.
