While I also think that we will finish higher than that prediction, in Colbert's defence there is little that can be directly attributed to him on this page other than a 9th-placed finish prediction, the opinion that Bradshaw is a good pick up and that Mick and Jolly will be big losses.

Nothing wrong with that IMO. He doesn't understand yet that White will be in All Australian contention by the end of the season . I like the fact that he acknowledges the potential for improvement in a side that has lost so many former premiership winning players.

"So-called" experts like him are paid the big bucks because punters want to read what they've got to say. It is the smaller-time journos and subbies who make such mistakes as saying the Swans finished 10th and that it is a preview of West Coast (see opening paragraph). At this stage any prediction 6-10 looks reasonable.The only thing Colbert really got wrong was to claim that Malceski would struggle for his place. Not on his preseason form.
