Umpires are stupid.....or Umpires shouldn't wear microphones

Last night proved how stupid the umpires are at times with their comments whilst the microphones were turned on.

Two incidents in the last qrtr spring to mind in particular.

Scenario 1. Saints have a shot at goal, miss OOBOTF. Free kick to Swans. Swans player (can't recall who the players were that were involved) runs acoss the mark to lose his man and recieve hadball from his team mate. Umpire calls it back with the explanation "That's unfair", WTF you are allowed to do it, it's not against the rules and the commentators go off about the stupid comment.

Scenario 2. Kenelly attempts to mark, is flattened. Swans players ask for 50m penalty. Umpire refuses with the comment "He didn't mark it". Again commentators go off about "How was he supposed to mark that when he was flattened."

Absolutely stupid comments by the umpires is it any wonder players get frustrated with the umpiring. What hope do we have at the game when we can't hear the stupid comments these idiots come out with.

Reminds me of the old one about keeping your mouth closed and being thought to be stupid, and opening it to remove all doubt.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

What's worse, he CLEARLY completed the mark before being hit.

Yes he did it was a very poor decision. Dawson was on the verge of reckless, he was not really in the contest. Surely Koz@@@@zke will get 3 -4?

The morons realised that a 50 would have meant the Swans getting within 2 points of the aints and they clearly weren't going to let that happen.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Of course you aren't going to be able to complete a mark, when you get flattend from behind in mid air.
From viewing the incident TK had two hands around the ball and control of the ball, if Dawson doesn't come with the late challenge then it would have been a mark, no shadow of a doubt IMHO.
