I come from Port Adelaide stock and I loathe the Crows more than any other team... it's always been painful that they are our bogey team. So god damn does it feel good to see us belt them for once.

Edit: Realised Tippett was just an emergency. Still probably trade bait... maybe for Dangerfield.

I really enjoyed McGlynn Hanners Kennedy and Seaby today and Jetta showed some great signs again he (jetta )probably just needs to back himself a little more. These guys have really added to our player group and the xexciting thing is i think they will all get better.

      Cheers

Now we need to beat Collingwood this year and then I can say we lost to Adelaide & Collingwood because of Hall & Jolly. Glad Jolly decided to leave as it meant we got Mummford who is younger and appears to be more versatile, Seaby an added bonus along with Bradshaw.

          From the backilne:

LRT - risky early but got his head together.
Grundy - Very good footballer. Has hardness inspades.
Shaw - Not his best but who cares. Not a passenger because we had none.
Malceski - well and truly back and I am back on.
Bolton - some sensational body work he doesn't have to take the top forward.
Mattner - couple of clangers but did his bit
McVeigh solid, Jacks best game for mine, McGlynn is a very smart footballer and a great reader of the play, Jude must love it with our midfield now because I suspect he will ot get a tag now, Kirk cruised around and did his job.
Jette - excuse me! How good is this lad at getting on his own. As soon as he starts to take those ones at his feet every time look out. Loves the big grounds.
White - redeemed himself in the second half. Looks better playing up the ground.
Moore - Just when you say "where's Moore", he bobs up with a couple of quality possessions. Does his bit each week.
Seaby - we can say McGlynn and ROK were stars as was Goodes but this bloke was simply outstanding and Mumford was OK too. They must have won almost every centre tap and our clearance work was a bit better there but needs improvement still.
Kennelly good, Bradshaw very good with 2 goals and at least 2 goal assists.
Hanners gives us that brilliant midfielder we were looking for. What a star.
ROK was simply sublime. Has a massive motor and was entitled to struggle late but just kept on going.
Goodesy's touch was something to behold.

I think we are entitled to say we are going places this year.

By all reports Jolly had a howler yesterday.

Too right. The only Swans who might be feeling a bit down after that (not the win but the evenness of the performance) are Teddy, Vez, MOD, Bevo Rohan and Barlow.

Agreed on all points-a nice win that other teams will take note of.

But great too see many of those you named in the ressies best players, they will keep placing pressure on the seniors.

                  Cheers

Except I would replace LRT with Teddy

                      Roos won't though.

I thought LRT looked very shaky in the first quarter but knuckled down after that and completely nullified Tippett (though the rest of the Crows team certainly helped him there).

Why? A good solid game after a shaky start.

Considering the Saints winning margin, and the easy goals we let in during that game - puts last weeks loss in perspective.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

We were helped today by the Crows' backline disorganisation and their amazingly poor goalkicking. They missed 5 sitters at least. Roos won the coaching honours - he kept Vince and Mackay out of the game, plus Craig couldn't respond to our ability to switch and use the corridor.

LRT made some shockers in the first quarter but was good for the rest of the game. He'll keep his place ahead of Ted because he can run and carry and Teddy's disposal is erratic.

Grundy was our most impressive defender - extremely well-composed and picked up a stack of possessions. Agree with the earlier comments about Hanna - what a tough, classy player (I didn't have a problem with the TV commentators today except that they didn't call him out.) ROK and McGlynn were sensational. Moore played exactly the game we need from him, as did Malceski.

A question mark over White, who didn't do much and made several clangers. We'll see how he goes next week. Bradshaw didn't do a lot either and got outbodied a few times, but he ran and chased, and kicked goals early when we needed them.

The Swans had an edge in most of the key stats - tackles 65 -52, clearances 36-32 , contested possessions118-101 and inside-50s 52-44 - but not as much as the scoreboard would suggest.

We actually lost the hitouts 33-40 though Seaby and Mumford played their roles to perfection. I love this combo already - it would be hard to find two such contrasting players playing the same position.

A huge win in the context of the season and the Swans' team rebuilding. Shows we are right on track and capable of mixing it with any team in the comp.
