    Screen on main SCG Scoreboard

It was the first time last night sitting on the Western side of the ground for me, so until then have always been deprived the pleasure of seeing the main scoreboard properly since the renovations at the ground started, screen moved, new one put up in the Churchill etc. I couldn't help but notice just how poor the quality of the screen on the main scoreboard is. I found myself often looking to the smaller screen up in the Churchill which is of far higher quality so I could actually make out what was happening on the far side of the ground. Time for the SCGT to invest in upgrading the main screen, but for some reason I don't think that will happen any time soon, because we all know what dinosaurs they are there and don't care too much for enhancing their patrons' experience at the ground.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I agree that the main one (in the Dally Messenger Stand, for those who are confused) is showing it's age but I suspect the SCGT knows this and is going to replace it when they replace the Bradman/Noble. No facts, just a hunch.

        Nerd!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

To randwforever - Larissa - to you please.
Sitting in the cheersquad last night as per what I do. Having the scoreboard removed from below the Bradman stand caused another problem for our viewing.
Where the cheersquad is placed is bad for the cameras they take the left hand bay after goals and not the cheer squad so we get comments no cheer squad. We try and encourage members to join us but how can we when no footage of cheer squad cheering on their team. No flags waving seen, no banners shown etc.
No to add to this the screen above Daily Messenger stand is really bad - those of us with good sight feel we need glasses as screen is very blurred, not focused - as a result when Swans at the other end we have no idea if goals are scored or what cannot discern from screen and very hard to view from one end to the other because of the angle we sit at.
To add to this now because the scoreboard was removed - we now cannot read the score because the score is blocked on the right hand side by the roof of the Bill O'Reilly stand.
Not good thinking by SCG trust and leaving us fans getting less enjoyment and certainly very little viewing.
Screen should be replaced by a quality screen which is viewable for all at the Randwick end of the ground. Viewable in that we can read scored and view the game by screen not a faded, out of focus and blurred crappy screen.

Please help us to have a fair view of the game and our great Swans.
Not a happy Swan supporter and cheer squad member.
          Love those Swans

I happened to have a chat with a SCG Official whether he knew when the redevelopment of the stand would take place. He said no idea.

Sitting in Brewongle, the Messenger stand was very bad last night. I too had to refer to Churchill Stand.

I notoced immediately the scorepanel had been removed and it was this that prompted me to have a talk to the Official.

Not sure this is a Larissa problem, more an SCG Trust problem, as you later acknowledge.

Would be nice to have new widescreen scoreboards like we have at ANZ Stadium.

That problem exists to some degree for virtually everyone who sits in the Trumper Stand. And you can't really see the screen in the Churchill Stand from that position either.

Those screens are too big for the SCG. You'd have to knock out more seats to accomodate them, and create even more restricted viewing problems.

The scoreboard is a disgrace. I'm sure it uses valves in it's display - real 80's technology. The SCGT couldn't give a rat's about Swans patrons.

It may well be a disgrace but I'm pretty sure they use the same scoreboard for the cricket.

BTW, the scoreboard that has been removed from the Bradman stand had been on the blink during the games last year - wrong scores, stopped clocked etc... Was expecting it to be fixed rather than removed.

Why for? It was redundant. Dally M scoreboard was right next to it. Between Dally M and Churchill stand scoreboards the SCGT probably figures their bases are covered.

                          Hi Mac,

Thanks for your feedback on the scoreboard.

Unfortunately matters such as these dont fall into my realm of influence. I will however take your comments to our Operations team who deal directly with the Stadium.

If there are any issues, particularly membership related, that you want my help with its probably best to call me at the Club or send me a PM to call you. I try to check the forums as much as possible but cant always respond to people straight away.

The videoscreen on top of the Messenger Stand was only temporary while the Trumper Stand was being built.

My sources tell me that there will be a new videoscreen erected in Sept-Oct.

But wasn't it great to be back at the SCG and seeing the guys score a great win.

The atmosphere against West Coast will again be fantastic. I note in AFL Record that the Swans will be playing their 300th game at the SCG against West Coast. Couldn't think of a better opposition to celebrate this milestone with a win

Well that explains it. There's sweet fa action at the cricket to be watched, and any that is can be replayed 20 times before the next delivery.
