Cousins on Saturday

Not sure if this has been discussed but I must say I was dissapointed that a good portion of the crowd thought it was a good idea to boo Cousins every time he laid hands on the ball on Saturday.

Yes, he has had his fair share of controversy but he did the time and it takes a lot to come back from that. I know - I've been down that road myself and it's no easy path. Simple. It would be a bit rich for anyone to presume to know his mind but at the very least, we're looking at someone who is a shadow of his former self and that mustn't be easy on anyone.

I actually feel sorry for the bloke but whether you do or not, I don't see any cause to boo the guy. We're better than that I believe.

Regardless of any off-field stuff, he was very boo-able for all his antics when with the Eagles. All that circular-finger-pointing-jumbo-jet-style- celebrations when he scored against us, especially in the GF put a boo target on his back for life.

The populace booed him when he played for West Coast long before his 'issues' saw the light of day, don't assume he was booed on moral grounds the other night.

Bottom line, guys like him and Milne and Didak et al are just boo-able.

I'm practising for the boo fest that will be when Jolly returns to town.... lol

If we was booed because of his medical issues them yes it would be bad form but as BBB says he was booed well before these issues came to light.

I booed him, cause of the Coasters connection and the history but, just as BBB said, he's one of those players you just have to boo!

Nothing to do with his recent off field behaviour.

He was the psudeo leader of a club that has recently beaten us by 1 point in a grand final and should be booed, just like Judd anytime he goes anywhere near the ball when playing against us.

Yep, very moronic. Schneids didn't want to go, from what I understand, we pushed him. Regardless, he is after all a part of our historic 2005 flag and should be accorded respect, as should Jolly. Don't forget we basically got young guns Jetta and Reid/Kennedy for an ageing Jolly so we did ok out of the deal and Jolly didn't leave us without compensation.

Only former players that should be booed are those that left for supposedly greener pastures and I don't think we've had one of those for a while have we? Rocca and Grant are the last two I can think of.

Goodes is the one that baffles me as to why he gets booed quite often at games, never done anything to anyone in any team yet cops it alot especially against saints and a particular game I am trying to erase from memory against coll at the G a few years back. I booed cousins when we played tigers last year, simply because he was a west coast player

Personally I blame Schneider for 2006 not Cuz and. It was sad to see Cuz run around at the SCG in the wrong colours.

Not that I begrude fans having reasonable fun but I couldn't hear the boos in the O'Reilly, just felt a sense of appreciation for someone who's contributed a lot to the game.
