where are the swans hosting finals matches if we happen to finish in the top 6 this year?
Finals venue?

We've beaten the bottom three teams, big test is how many games we win out of the good teams we play twice: Geelong, WB, Brisbane, Freemantle. We need to win a decent amount of these.Comment

This is clearly a bit premature!
The finals matches are typically out at Homebush Bay, however the games can be switched to the SCG if need be - I think due to a scheduling conflict, we played the 2005 semi at the SCG.
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

And it very nearly backfired on us. Remember the controversy about the way the ground was so heavy, because it had been excessively watered, and we weren't warned beforehand? I'm not sure we ever got to the bottom of that.Comment

Yeah ANZ is first choice, but if if a NRL team have to play on the night the AFL wants us to play (Wests Tigers under the McIntyre System had to play the Friday night of our Geelong final in 2005 because of where they finished, their game had to be first in the sequence) we get to play at the SCG.
I LOVE finals at the SCG, so if we are good enough or lucky enough to make the Top 6, I'd love it to be the SCG. Although, if we are 5th or 6th, ANZ is 100% available for AFL Finals Week 1.Comment

yeah ok I knew someone would be saying this which is why I was hesitant to ask in the first place.
But thanks, I couldn't remember why the 2005 SF was played at the cricket ground.. the others had always been at ANZ.
PS: The wests tigers played the north qld cowboys 9/9/2005 and only drew 26k to that blockbuster final
Having said that i'm 100% sure the Bulldogs were shafted one year because the Swans were hosting a clashing final. vs Lions???Comment
