Yep, a great review of the game. Interesting to note another scribe putting J. Bolton in the best. A number have in other threads bagged his game but I thought he was pretty good.
As for Connolly, I've always thought he was, if not a hater, at least a disliker. I've often thought he never got over the '96 Prelim... -
I wasn't reading Rohan Connolly in '96 but in the noughties I got the impression he was a bit of a fan, and greatly admired our hard-at-it approach when others (e.g.Andy D) were critical. He certainly likes what he sees now.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

I think he likes us. He actually predicted us to be premiers in one of the pre-seasons prior to 2005, suffice to say that he was in the minority at the timeComment
