    Funny.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Out of interest, what were the lyrics? I've come up with a few: "@@@@ a mole", "find a hole", etc.

@@@@ a mole? That was my first thought, but then, I associate moles more with Western Sydney than I do the Cross! The Cross is for pros, not gifted amateurs.

            How about "moll"?
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

What ever happened to this cup? Was it just a one-off or do we play for it everytime we play against West Coast?

I like the fact that there have been no such irrelevant medals awarded for Swans games.
So Liz, how are you feeling about the Brett Kirk medal?

There's another cup and another medal coming up next weekend. Can't we just play games anymore without all this stuff?

                Alec Campbell Cup
Hawthorn and the Sydney Swans will compete for the Alec Campbell Cup in honour of the last known survivor of the Gallipoli campaign. Alec Campbell, 103, passed away on May 16 2002 and as a Tasmanian, his daughter, Felicity Tangney will present the Cup to the winning team.

                Frank MacDonald Medal
The player whose "conduct and play during the game best exemplifies the ANZAC spirit - skill, courage in adversity, self-sacrifice, team work and fair play" will be awarded the Frank MacDonald Medal. The medal is awarded in honour of Australia?s oldest World War I veteran and last surviving serviceman to have been cited for bravery in that war, passing away at 107 years on the August 23, 2003.

While I think all of this stuff is excessive, I don't think it really matters. It's not like this 'cup match' will be an annual thing between Hawthorn and Sydney. It'll just be for Hawthorn and a team they play in Tassie.
