Mmmmmmmmmmm yes, the view from the TOP is spectacular! Yes, it is only April and yes the next month will really tell us where our team is at, BUT who cares because at the moment we are NUMBER 1 and I love it!
    Swannies for life!

My thoughts were that that was the last time we were EVER on top of the ladder during the season...remembered Hawthorn but couldn't remember the year....amazingly.

And it was 12.23 in the am here too...lights out at 11.00, started coughing so I told the wife I best get up for a while..."go back to sleep honey"...stayed up listening to the Swans match (which I had recorded from the afl radio feed in the afternoon) then listened to the end of the other games....see I really couldn't sleep!

For those with a passion for statistics, assuming Geelong aren't too tough on Carlton, the last time Sydney found themselves on top of the ladder for a given round was Round 1 2005. The last time they were number so advanced in a season was Rounds 5 to 7 back in 1998. .

I have calculated that this is the 118th time that South Melbourne/Sydney has found themselves at the end of a given Round at the top of the Table. 96 times as South, and 22 times as Sydney

Remarkably, on the last two occasions that the Swans won the flag, in 1933 and 2005, they were on top of the ladder for just one round in those entire two seasons: Round 1 2005 as stated above, after a big first game win over Hawthorn that year.
