    Saturday afternoon footy in Sydney

I know that the introduction of Saturday afternoon football in Sydney was very popular last year. That said, I do wish the AFL could avoid clashes on Saturday afternoon with SCG games and the Autumn carnival horse races at Randwick. The AFL had to change the Round 3 against Richmond to a night game. After taking over an hour to get home by car for the West Coast game , I only wish the same was done in Round 5.

I think the club/AFL didn't want to move to clash with the Tahs-Brumbies match. I know plenty of people who headed straight out to Homebush Bay after today's game for the S14.

Getting to then game was terrible too. Took me about 40 minutes longer than usual due to traffic. Fortunately it only meant that I didnt have time to grab lunch before the game.

I wish the races could avoid clashes with the AFL. I object to having to have games moved because of horse racing.

And what a great day of footy it's been.

we got to the SCG about 11am. No traffic hassles - we got public transport. A lot of people who arrived later complained bitterly about the traffic. Even the buses couldn't get through.

they have to change race days. It's the only solution.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Parked my car in THE ROCKS, rode my bicycle to the game, locked it to a tree right outside Brewrongle stand, no fee, rode back past all the stationary traffic, thru Hyde Park, Art Gallery road, to lady macquarie's chair thru Botanical Gardens, I know, it's illegal, but they have trouble catching you on foot, round the Opera House, back to the ROCKS, pure bliss.

Do that in Campbelltown and you'd come back to find your bike and the tree gone.

                    Showoff.

I always get starving hungry after a game, was squashed into early Saturday night traffic, and gave up, turned left into a Macca's drive through - not my finest hour, but I was Hungry!

I am on the pushie as well. My wife went to the races, she took the car and it took her 40 minutes from Rosebery. Takes me just under 20 minutes to the Berwongle stand and it's downhill on the way home.

Nice midday walk to the game, stumbled out of a pub nearby at midnight. I love those 12 hour sessions knowing I can sleep in the next day

Hey! as someone from Minto (next door to Campbelltown for those eastern suburbs types who have no idea what lies west of Erskineville) I object to that! What trees?!!

And just quietly, since we are so far out in the wilderness, what use would we have for a bike! It's all cars, cars and more cars out here - that's why we need 8 lanes on the M5!

Saturday afternoon games in Sydney aren't good. Traffic to the game was appalling

Nice day though, ground looks good. I think more oriented at families with young kids though
