    Looking ahead

There's little point in looking to this weekend until we know if Jon Brown and Merrett will be playing. So thinking ahead: does anyone know how Bradshaw has gone against Scarlett in the past?

    Bump.

No-one knows the answer? I can't remember the results of Scarlett on Bradshaw in the past - or has he always taken Brown while someone else went to Bradshaw?

I have no idea whether Scarlett got the match-ups on Bradshaw or Brown in the past few years either - last years results don't tell too much.

Bradshaw got zero goals in the early match at Skilled Stadium (Brown 3) - in which the Lions were flogged, but I don't know who his opponent was. In the later match at the Gabba Bradshaw got 3 goals, but Scarlett did not play. In the 2008 clash Bradshaw only kicked 1 goal. He did not play in 2007 as he did his ACL.

Harry Taylor might also be the likely match-up and get the gig on Bradshaw anyway.

Thanks Matty. Now it's no longer in the distant future I wonder if any of our students of the game have a more comprehensive answer?

There's a psot on the Geelong BF board regarding this matter:

              From the local Geelong rag:
At the forefront of Thompson's mind was next Sunday's clash against Sydney, a match that will be arguably the biggest blockbuster to be played at Skilled Stadium in years.

"Sydney is going to be a different game but the good thing is we played the footy we wanted to play and I really look forward to playing Sydney because I watched them last night and they were very hard and physical," he said.

"They're a good team, they've got a lot of spirit at the moment and it should be a great match to be played here in Geelong.

"They've probably surprised a lot of people, Sydney, and they're playing as good as that team can possibly play.

"They're playing for one another and you can just see on their faces, with their expressions, how close they are. They're really enjoying their footy at the moment and it's going to be a big test next Sunday."

Nice to see the reporter rates us as the biggest game in years but I find Bomber's comments really irritating. I so hope we win and breaks the cracks in the Cats' facade wide open.
