Well done to Mummo for rucking all night. Big effort in itself and also got hold of the ball at crucial times. Nice hit on JBrown.
Jack has become a real playmaker.
And Braddo! Pity he missed that one at the end. Tom Harley's prediction pre-season was Bradshaw to kick more goals than Hall. He's winning 23-20.

The only worries are Seaby's injury and Jude's possible tribunal appearance. McGlynn said he should be back next week.
Especially agree with the bits above.

Malceski was great. Not only his (usually) superb delivery of the footy, but the chasedowns and the hardness at the contest, which we weren't seeing in 2008/9.

I would certainly vote 1 Crusher Currie presuming that Seaby doesn't come up. How long can we keep in cotton wool a 2006 draft selection, who's apparently pretty good? White was game all night, but did nothing to seriously advance the proposition that his best role is ruck.

Ted Richards was very good and justified his selection. Heath Grundy was exceptional. I think to keep Brown to 4 after he had 2 within the first 10 minutes, is notable enough. The fact is that you can't stop Brown (or any quality forward) on the lead if the ball is delivered low to the right spot. But one-on-one battles under higher balls-- Grundy hardly lost one all night.

I don't think the last quarter is indicative of any broader malaise. Tired, lacking in rotation options compared with your opponents, dewy conditions when you've been playing dry-weather footy the balance of the night. They were skill errors rather than bigger structural problems; players still kept running in to help clean up after each others' stuff-ups!

Well ... you've just gotta love beating Brisbane.

Even better than beating Brisbane, was watching their supporters leave 10 minutes into the final quarter. They were so loud and mouthy!!! I asked them how they felt about dumping Braddles for the fevwit ... just before Braddles kicked that beauty after the siren in the third. Twenty minutes later, they were gone. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

      How good was Mummy!!!

Hanging out after the game at the players exit, I didn't like seeing MOST of the boys limping. It was a very tough battle tonight. A lot of sore players. Moore limped out, Seaby on crutches, and Shaw pretty tender.

Spoke to B2 ... he said "isn't it great that I'm not really needed". Like, OMG ... you are!!!

Top game. Very proud of the huge effort put in.

Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I think Currie kicked three in the ressies ... he's more than ready to ruck in the seniors. How much choice do we have?

        Mummy did a FANTASTIC job.

His critics are conspicuous by their absence of comments. I think he provided some stability down back in addition to doing the trademark Teddy role of dropping in front of the hole to take courageous marks. Another name I havent' seen mentioned thus far is Nick Smith, totally shut out Luke Power, kept him to just 11 possessions and who ended up in the back pocket as a result. Perhaps a bigger target next week - Gary Ablett Junior?

Esky was very good tonight. There was one part late in the game when he was running off to the interchange and the Lions player (1) ran on. Esky chased him contested the ball and a few minutes later tackled Grizzly adams near the interchange and got a free kick. Very outstanding effort.

              Perfect script for tradebait Bradshaw

I so happy you stuck it up them Braddles. You enjoy playing first fiddle - you deserve it.

(I still can't believe they swapped Braddles for the fevwit. Idiots!!)

As my mate said in the last quarter: "this is no time for comedy football!" But to be fair, you could see the dew forming and they were knackered after the epic 7-6 third quarter. Mark that one as a good, tough win, with plenty for the highlights reel - especially Bradshaw!

Big injury list though, have to see how that shakes out over next week. Still, the entire SCG crowd (very vocal tonight) now know how to pop a shoulder back in - great video instruction on the big screens.

After reading the Ted bashing comments over the last few days I was starting to doubt my appreciation of him. So I rechecked his stats from the past 2 years and I stick to my positive comments made elsewhere on RWO. I still believe that Ted has a valuable contribution to make and played well in a team of many players playing well. I thought that he showed a lot of courage against the Lions. I don't know that Craig Bolton would have done much better.

When I saw Dr Gibbs run out and pop that shoulder back in, I thought (after I had a good chuck - OMG) that if it were me, I would have insisted on a shot of pethadeine first!!
Huge effort for Hanners to come back on.
Nathan Gibbs was the best signing this club EVER, EVER, EVER made.

Who does Teddy bashing? Name them. I'll come around to their houses for a "visit".
You all leave Teddy alone!! He sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo deserves his spot in the seniors.
It's a pity that B2 had to get injured for him to get a run.

The nerve of my friend having a 50th birthday party this evening. The NERVE. Sounds like this was the game to be at the SCG for. *sigh* ...
