Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Absolutely Crusher must play next week.
Didnt think Ted was great but let's wait for the cold light of day to comment!"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Just watched the replay - fan-bloody-tastic! I'm officially excited.
Anyone bagging the last qr needs to realise that we had only two on the bench for most of the night.
And I hope the Kennedy-bashers sit down and watch the replay carefully - he was superb.
What's the word on the injury count? A few with sore heads but perhaps only Seaby missing next week? Seaby out, McGlynn in?Comment

When I saw Dr Gibbs run out and pop that shoulder back in, I thought (after I had a good chuck - OMG) that if it were me, I would have insisted on a shot of pethadeine first!!
Huge effort for Hanners to come back on.
Nathan Gibbs was the best signing this club EVER, EVER, EVER made.Comment

I don't want to take this particular rmessage too much to heart but Swantastic, (with all due respect), YOU ARE SOOOOOOO WRONG!!!!!
The win against Brisbane will rank with the club's Kangaroos win in Round 4, 1999, and the Port Adelaide win in the 2003 QF at Football Park, as one of the greatest victories in terms of courage in recent memory.
First, Brisbane are a very good side, (at least top 6) and were virtually full strength
Second, missing from the line up were the Swans' best defender( Craig Bolton), best ruckman (Mark Seaby-reminding me of when Stafford went down in that above 1999 North game), and best small forward (McGlynn)
Third, two of our most experienced, quality players in Ryan O'Keefe and Jude Bolton both suffer concussion injuries during the game.
Fourth, young Hannerbury does his shoulder in the middle of the game
Fifth, Moore and Richards both suffer injuries during the fourth quarter.
In effect we are left with two on the bench most of the night.
No, that was a GREAT win, by a team at capable of anything.Last edited by top40; 2 May 2010, 05:16 AM.Comment

Haven't watched the replay yet but saw most of the 3rd q on justin.tv (which wasn't brought down and had a very watchable stream - maybe the afl recognise that if a game is on free to air then anyone watching a stream is not losing them a single precious dollar!!!)...and am hoping that the Kennedy pushers are right. have been completely underwhelmed with his first 4 games and thought he was very, very lucky to be playing considering the talent we have in the reserves.
I like the comments about the fact that there appear to have been two high quality teams out there....straining at the leash and just occasionally slipping it to pound on a few goals before being stuffed back in the bag.
Haven't seen the Saints/Dogs either but there would have to be an inkling that the premiers might come from the more dangerous teams stringing it together (Swans/Lions/Pies/Cats/Blues) rather than the dour ones managing to "manage" the opposition into scoring less than them (Saints/Dogs).
Hope so anyways....tops for another week probably!"I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment

Very courageous win. Shame about Seaby and Hannerbery in particular, but very gutsy
Mumford & Kennedy's best game. Jack, O'keefe & Bolton were very good, Shaw at times
No one will remember Malcolm Blight's goal after Bradshaw's. Our injury list is appalling this year, McGlynn, Bird, C Bolton all out, looks like Seaby, maybe Hannerbery to follow - hoping the shoulder isn't bad. Malceski's third quarter mark was excellent
It was really good to see the players resolve under so much pressure, some guys struggled on the night but really stuck at their tasksYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

I want to get in at this stage and give a wrap to Jesse - he is my part time love child so tend to keep an eye on what he is doing off the ball, and it may not have come up on the tv. He worked. He is not a great player, but he worked. He blocked, he moved, he balked the opposition, and he rucked to give Mummy a break, and he did it well. He may not get into the scrum play like Jude or move like Peb, but he hovers and darts and is a nuisance to the opposition. Good lad. He improves each week.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

I love this guys pace...but I seem to recall on draft night that disposal was an issue...it sure is. Unless he can tighten this up it will diminish his one real asset.
Mumford was magnificent in my view & yes Kennedy did some good stuff in & under...but his kicking is a bit Kirk like.Comment

Not only was it a win based on class but heck of a lot of character...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC
